Design Inspiration

Rooted in the refined elegance of the Louis XVI era, this salon corner table embodies the Neoclassical ideal of disciplined beauty. The design draws on the characteristic vocabulary of late 18th-century French court furniture: fluted tapered legs, rosette corner blocks, and a continuous bead-and-reel frieze that frames the apron with aristocratic precision. Brass & Wood artisans in Egypt faithfully interpret this heritage, producing a piece that would complement any classically appointed living room.

Materials & Finishes

The table top is hewn from a slab of white veined marble, its cool luminosity providing a striking contrast to the warm, deep-toned solid wood frame below. The frame is finished in a rich dark lacquer that accentuates the handcarved details, while selective gilding in a warm gold leaf finish highlights the bead mouldings, fluted column capitals, and the elegant four-petal rosettes at each corner. Slender, tapered fluted legs terminate in small gilt rings above squared feet, a hallmark of authentic Louis XVI construction.

Craftsmanship

Every element of this corner table is shaped and finished by hand by Brass & Wood's master craftsmen. The fluting on each leg is individually carved, the rosettes are relief-carved from solid wood, and the bead-and-reel frieze is meticulously applied and gilded by hand. The marble top is cut and polished to a smooth honed finish, then set into the frame to create a seamless, stable surface. This level of handwork ensures that no two pieces are entirely identical — each table is a unique expression of classical craftsmanship.
