Louis XV 2-Seat Salon Sofa with Gilded Frame & Damask Upholstery
Design Inspiration
Rooted in the splendour of the Louis XV era, this 2-seat salon sofa captures the essence of 18th-century French Rococo aristocracy. Sweeping curves, a dramatically carved cresting rail adorned with foliate and floral motifs, and a generously rounded silhouette speak to the grandeur of Versailles-inspired interiors. Brass & Wood's master craftsmen have faithfully recreated every ornamental detail to bring timeless opulence into the modern living room.
Materials & Finish
The frame is constructed from a solid hardwood foundation, dressed in a rich hand-applied gold-leaf finish that highlights each carved motif with warm luminosity. The seat, back, and sides are wrapped in a champagne-toned damask fabric woven with a tonal floral repeat, lending depth and texture. A tassel fringe skirt in coordinating champagne runs along the base, completing the period-correct silhouette.
Craftsmanship
Every element of this sofa is shaped and finished entirely by hand in Brass & Wood's Egyptian atelier. Skilled artisans carve the decorative crest and frame details using traditional chisels and gouges, then apply gold leaf by hand to ensure consistent brilliance. The upholstery is hand-stretched and hand-stitched for a taut, flawless finish that mirrors the exacting standards of 18th-century European cabinet-makers.
