Louis XV Marquetry Vitrine Buffet with Gilt Bronze Mounts & Rose Marble Top
Royal Inspiration: The Louis XV Vitrine Buffet
Born from the opulent courts of 18th-century France, this vitrine buffet captures the playful elegance of the Louis XV Rococo era. Its serpentine silhouette, symmetrical swag-and-tassel ormolu garlands, and oval bevelled glass medallion echo the grandeur of Versailles, reimagined for the contemporary luxury interior.
Exceptional Materials
The cabinet body is constructed from solid kiln-dried hardwood dressed in richly figured rosewood veneer, showcasing a chevron book-matched pattern across every panel. A thick slab of warm rose-veined marble crowns the piece, while three glazed doors with shaped bevelled glass panels invite the display of precious objects. Cabriole legs, finished in antique brass leaf, add a characteristic Louis XV lightness.
Hand-Applied Gilt Bronze Ormolu
Each decorative mount — from the elaborate swag garlands and ribbon bows at the frieze to the acanthus corner cartouches and the scrolled sabots at the feet — is individually cast, chased, and finished in rich antique gilt bronze by Brass & Wood's master metalworkers in Cairo.
