Louis XVI Gilded Wood Salon Banquette with Rolled Arms & Bouclé Upholstery
Design Inspiration
Drawn directly from the refined vocabulary of French Louis XVI Neoclassicism, this salon banquette captures the era's devotion to symmetry, restrained elegance, and architectural precision. Scroll-ended arms crowned with circular medallion finials, a rope-twist apron rail, and acanthus-carved column legs compose a silhouette that has graced the most distinguished European interiors for centuries. Brass & Wood's Egyptian master craftsmen translate this heritage into a living-room centrepiece built to endure.
Materials & Finish
The frame is constructed from kiln-dried solid wood and dressed in a hand-applied gold leaf gilding that lends a warm, luminous depth impossible to replicate with spray finishes. Every carved surface — from the fluted tapered legs to the sunburst rosette details — is individually gilded and lightly antiqued to highlight the relief. The seat and bolster cushions are upholstered in a textured ivory bouclé fabric whose subtle loop weave adds contemporary softness to the classical form. Coordinating fabric-covered bolster pillows are finished with hand-knotted ivory tassels.
Craftsmanship
Each banquette is entirely handcrafted in the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt. Joinery is executed using traditional mortise-and-tenon techniques for lasting structural integrity. Carving, gilding, and upholstery are performed by specialist artisans in dedicated sequential stages, ensuring every detail meets the exacting standards that define Brass & Wood's classical replica collections.
