Canapé Salon Chair - Olive
Design Inspiration
Rooted in the refined elegance of the Louis XVI era, this Bergère armchair recalls the grandeur of Versailles and the ordered neoclassical aesthetic that defined late 18th-century French court interiors. Its enclosed sides, generous seat cushion, and structured back embody the Bergère form at its most regal.
Frame & Ornamentation
The frame is crafted from solid fine hardwood, finished in a rich deep-burgundy tone and adorned with hand-applied gilt accents. Carved laurel-leaf garlands, rosette medallions, fluted columns, fleur-de-lis corner blocks, and a crowning foliate crest rail bring the surface to life with the characteristic vocabulary of neoclassical ornament. Each gilded detail is individually worked by Brass & Wood's master artisans in Egypt.
Upholstery & Comfort
The seat, back, and inner arm panels are upholstered in a lustrous ivory damask fabric, its woven floral-and-acanthus pattern shifting subtly with the light. A matching scatter cushion is included. The cushion core provides comfortable everyday support while the padded back and enclosed sides offer a embracing seated posture true to the Bergère tradition.
Craftsmanship & Heritage
Every piece bearing the Brass & Wood name is entirely handcrafted in Egypt using time-honoured joinery and hand-carving techniques passed down through generations of skilled craftsmen. The result is a faithful, museum-quality replica that brings the spirit of classical European interiors into contemporary luxury homes.
